Lantern Pals
Terms of Service
These terms set out what you need to know before playing Lantern Pals. Please pay particular attention to the articles on payments, withdrawal and random items.
Notice of change: these terms (version 3) apply from 2026-12-30; until the day before, the current terms (version 2) apply and stay published on this website. They change to set the rules for coupon and invitation rewards and for taking back bonuses. They also state the second-confirmation line for players under 19. And they restate the salvage guarantee sentence in the random items article to match the rule as it works (the guarantee itself does not change). If you do not agree, you may ask support@aboutusforyou.com to delete your account (ending this agreement); if you do not object by the effective date, you are deemed to have agreed.
Article 1 (Purpose)
These terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the mobile game Lantern Pals ("the game") and related services provided by AboutUsAgency, Inc. (미국 델라웨어 법인 / Delaware corporation) ("we"), and the rights, obligations and responsibilities of us and of players.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- "Player" means anyone who uses the game under these terms.
- "Paid gems" are gems received through a payment, "bonus gems" are gems received free of charge together with a payment (such as a first-purchase bonus), and "free gems" are gems earned through play, missions, ad rewards and similar. If you withdraw after spending bonus gems, the spent bonus gems are valued like paid gems (Article 9).
- "Paid products" are gem packs, memberships, season passes, growth funds, bundles, cosmetics and similar items bought through an app store payment.
- "Random items" are in-game items, and chances to use them, whose result is decided by probability, such as salvage.
- The "inbox" is the in-game space where bought or granted products wait until you claim them.
- "App store" means the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- The "player ID" is the account number shown under Settings > More > Support.
- "Backup codes", "transfer codes" and "account recovery codes" are codes you use to keep your progress yourself, move it to another device, or get it back.
Article 3 (Publication and changes)
- We publish these terms under Settings > More > Terms and information in the game and on this page of our website (https://dusk-patrol.vercel.app).
- We may change these terms within the limits of the law. We will announce the effective date and the reason in the game and on this page at least 7 days before a change takes effect (30 days for changes that are unfavourable to you or otherwise important), and show you the changed terms again the first time a version of the game with them opens the lobby.
- If you do not agree to the changed terms you may stop using the game and ask support@aboutusforyou.com to delete your account (ending this agreement); refunds of remaining paid currency follow Article 10. If we told you that silence until the effective date counts as agreement and you do not object, you are deemed to have agreed to the changed terms.
- Matters not covered by these terms follow the applicable laws, the Content User Protection Guidelines and general practice.
Article 4 (Agreement)
- The game can be used without signing up. The first time the game opens the lobby we show you these terms and the privacy policy (if you start from a link that goes straight into a night, they are shown when you reach the lobby afterwards), and the agreement is formed when you tap Agree to the terms and start. Important points about paid products, withdrawal and random items are shown again on the purchase screens.
- In app versions with the game server, an anonymous account is created automatically for your device once you agree to these terms, and your progress is uploaded automatically as cloud save. Cloud save, transfer codes, account recovery codes and purchase verification work through this account. We do not ask for your name or contact details.
- In app versions with the game server, you can delete your account and end this agreement at any time with Delete account under Settings > More > Privacy & reports, or by asking support@aboutusforyou.com (also when you cannot open the game because you do not agree to changed terms). Deleting it erases your cloud save, server wallet (gem and coin balances) and transfer and recovery codes, and cannot be undone. Deleting in the app also erases the game save on this device. After an email request the game save on your device is removed only when you delete the app; if you keep using the app, the next visit to the lobby creates a new anonymous account and uploads that save again. Other devices linked to the same account start with a new account the next time they connect.
- Any paid gems left when you delete your account are recorded with your purchase records. If you email support@aboutusforyou.com with the order number (from the app store receipt) to ask for a refund, we return the paid gems left, less that pack's first-purchase bonus gems already spent (counted as for a withdrawal), multiplied by that pack's purchase price per paid gem (bonus and free gems themselves excluded). Google Play payments are refunded through Google; for Apple payments we pay you directly to an account you give us.
Article 5 (Minors)
- The game asks for your age band (under 14, 14 to 18, 19 or older) before your first purchase and at similar moments. Nothing is preselected, and a chosen band can only be changed to a younger one.
- Players who chose a band under 19 have a monthly spending cap of ₩70,000, and some products and cumulative-spending events are not shown to them. Products of ₩30,000 or more also ask them to confirm a second time before paying.
- If a minor pays without a legal guardian's consent, the minor or the guardian may cancel the purchase. Cancellation may be limited where the minor used deception to appear to be an adult or to have the guardian's consent, or paid within the range of property the guardian allowed the minor to use.
- To cancel, send the transaction number (from the app store receipt), the player ID and proof of guardianship (such as a family relation certificate issued or masked so that the back half of resident registration numbers is hidden) to support@aboutusforyou.com. We destroy the proof as soon as we have checked it and keep only the fact that we did. Purchases made through Apple may also need Apple's refund procedure.
Article 6 (Providing, changing and ending the service)
- We aim to provide the game around the clock, every day of the year. We may pause the service for maintenance or for equipment, network or app store failures, and will announce pauses in advance unless that is impossible.
- We may change the game's contents (balance, content, design and so on). We will announce in advance any change that significantly affects paid products and, where it is unfavourable to you, compensate or refund under Article 10.
- If we end the game service, we will announce it in the game at least 30 days in advance and refund unused paid gems and products with time remaining under Article 10.
- Some features, such as ads, payments and cloud save, need an internet connection.
Article 7 (Paid products and payment)
- Paid products can be bought only with the app store's payment methods, and the app store processes your payment details. Prices are shown in the amount and currency the app store sets for your country; in Korea, in won including VAT.
- The purchase screen shows each product's contents, price, period of use and whether and when withdrawal is limited, and products of ₩50,000 or more ask you to confirm a second time.
- Once a payment is confirmed, the product goes to your inbox or is delivered at once. If you paid but did not receive a product, tap 'Restore purchases' under Settings > Save or contact support@aboutusforyou.com.
- A membership gives its benefits for a set period after a single payment and does not renew automatically.
- If a payment is cancelled or refunded by the app store, or a withdrawal is accepted, we take back the currency and items received from that product. Cosmetic items are not taken back. Of the rewards that payment earned, First Spark gifts and cumulative-spending gifts not yet received are cancelled and those already received are not taken back, while Lantern Oath and Lighting rewards follow the reduced spending total and are taken back even if received. If only part of a purchase is withdrawn, only the part withdrawn (unspent currency, a membership's remaining days and similar) is taken back or ended, what was already received and used stays, and First Spark gifts not yet received are cancelled; Lantern Oath and Lighting rewards still follow the reduced spending total and are taken back even if received (Article 10). The rules above for First Spark gifts, cumulative-spending gifts, Lantern Oath and Lighting rewards stay as they are; any other bonus or reward we give (including streak bonuses, code and coupon rewards and invitation rewards) is taken back if the payment it rests on is cancelled or refunded or its conditions turn out not to have been met, and what can be taken back is shown in advance on the purchase screen and in the notice.
Article 8 (In-game currency)
- Gems are split into paid, bonus and free gems, and the wallet screen shows each.
- Free gems are spent first, then bonus gems, then paid gems; within each kind, the oldest are spent first. Salvage can use every kind of gem, in the same order.
- Gems do not expire. Event currencies such as festival lanterns turn into coins when the event ends, at the rate shown on the festival screen, keeping the same value under the in-game value reference.
- In-game currency and items cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to other players.
Article 9 (Withdrawal)
- You may withdraw from a purchase within 7 days of buying a paid product. For gem packs (except the Lantern Bank), request it in the game under Settings > More > Terms and information > Purchase history · Withdrawal; for any other paid product, send the transaction number (from the app store receipt) and your player ID to support@aboutusforyou.com.
- In the following cases withdrawal is limited under Article 17(2) of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce; the purchase screen and the confirmation shown before you claim an item say so.
| Product | When withdrawal is limited |
|---|---|
| Gem packs | Once all of its paid gems have been spent. If only some were spent, you may withdraw for the paid gems not yet spent (request by email); first-purchase bonus gems already spent are subtracted, one for one, from the paid gems you can withdraw, and the remaining bonus gems are taken back. A pack none of whose gems were spent can be withdrawn in the game at once. |
| Products claimed from the inbox (bundles, season passes, growth funds, permanent products and similar) | Once claimed (opened) from the inbox. Passes and funds unlock or pay out their rewards when claimed. |
| Memberships | After it is claimed from the inbox, you may withdraw only for what is left (by email). The price is split across its parts (the reward on claiming and the daily rewards) by their value, and we return the share of the days not yet received and of the claiming reward not yet used. |
| Event currency products | Once the festival lanterns or the gems or salvage flares received with them have been spent |
- Even where a restriction above applies, if part of a product can be separated and has not been used yet (unspent paid gems or event currency, the days left on a membership), you may withdraw for that part within 7 days of purchase (proviso to Article 17(2)(v) of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce). Send the transaction number and your player ID to support@aboutusforyou.com. The price is split across the product's parts by their value (by quantity for currency, by days for periods, and by the in-game value reference table for mixed products); the refund is the share of the part returned, rounded up to the won, and a part already used reduces it only by that part's own share. For a gem pack, however, first-purchase bonus gems already spent are also deducted at that pack's price per paid gem (table above). Lanterns that became coins at a festival's end count as unused, and those coins are taken back with them.
- When a withdrawal is accepted, the currency and items received from that product are taken back and your payment is returned. We refund Google Play payments through Google: a gem pack withdrawn in the game is refunded as soon as the withdrawal is accepted, and a product withdrawn by email is refunded within 3 business days of accepting the withdrawal. You may also ask us at support@aboutusforyou.com to withdraw from an Apple purchase. We will show you how to ask Apple for a refund (reportaproblem.apple.com), and if Apple's refund is not confirmed within 3 business days of your withdrawal, we take back the currency and items received from that product and return the amount paid to you directly (by bank transfer). If Apple also refunds you later, please return the amount refunded twice.
- If a product differs from how it was described or advertised, or was not provided as agreed, you may withdraw within 3 months of receiving it and within 30 days of when you learned or could have learned of this.
- You may also use the app store's own refund policy. Cancellation of purchases by minors follows Article 5.
Article 10 (Refunds and recovery of items)
- If you were overcharged through our fault, we will arrange a full refund through the app store.
- If the game service ends, we refund unused paid gems and the unused part of products with time remaining. Currency received free of charge is not refunded.
- If currency received from a cancelled or refunded product has already been spent, it is recovered from your remaining currency first and any shortfall is deducted from currency you receive later.
- Send refund requests to support@aboutusforyou.com.
Article 11 (Random items)
- Salvage is a random item. The probability of each gear grade and piece is published to four decimal places under 'View odds' on the salvage screen and on the salvage odds page.
- Salvage has guarantees. If no Dusk-or-better piece appears before the 10th salvage, the 10th salvage gives one, and the 80th salvage after the last Dawn piece is a Dawn piece. The salvage screen shows how many remain.
- Each salvage gives a mark, and 150 marks can be exchanged for a Dawn piece of your choice.
- Salvage can also be done with free currency or by watching an ad, and shop products that contain random items are labelled as containing random items.
- Before any probability changes, we announce the change and its effective date in the game and on the odds page.
Article 12 (Ads)
- The game has rewarded ads that you watch only if you want to. Not watching never reduces the basic reward, and nothing is lost when an ad fails to load or is not watched to the end.
- You can watch up to 25 rewarded ads a day.
- Advertisers are responsible for the products and services in their ads. Age-based ad limits and personalised ads follow the privacy policy.
Article 13 (Codes and coupons)
- Code and coupon rewards have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and each code can be used once per account.
- Codes are only for free rewards; they are never a way to sell paid currency outside the app stores.
- We never give codes or rewards in return for reviews or ratings.
- Rewards from codes obtained or used dishonestly are taken back.
Article 14 (Invitations)
- In app versions that offer invitations, invitation rewards are given after the invited player has actually played on 3 days.
- Players under 14 do not receive invitation rewards.
- If misuse is found, invitation rewards are withheld or taken back; the information used to detect misuse and how long it is kept follow the relevant section of the privacy policy.
Article 15 (Save data and continuing on another device)
- Your progress is saved on your device and, in app versions with the game server, uploaded automatically to cloud save as well (kept on the device only once Under 14 is chosen). Deleting the app or resetting the device can erase the progress on it, so make a backup code under Settings > Save or write down an account recovery code.
- A transfer code works once within 24 hours of being created, and creating a new account recovery code retires the previous one. A recovery code is shown only once when it is created, so write it down somewhere safe.
- We are not responsible for losses caused by sharing a code with someone else, unless we acted intentionally or negligently.
- An account that has purchases, a gem or coin balance, or an amount owed cannot use another account's transfer or recovery code. In that case, please contact support@aboutusforyou.com.
Article 16 (Your obligations)
You must not:
- modify the game or manipulate game data with programs or devices we have not authorised;
- deliberately exploit bugs for gain;
- use another person's payment method or account details without permission, or obtain payments or refunds dishonestly;
- exchange in-game currency or items for cash or other financial benefit, or broker such exchanges;
- send excessive requests to the server or otherwise disrupt the service;
- copy, distribute or commercially use the game's works without our permission.
Article 17 (Restrictions)
- If you breach your obligations, we may, depending on the seriousness, warn you, take back currency and items obtained dishonestly, or restrict features that use the server.
- We will tell you the reason and duration before acting, and you may object by writing to support@aboutusforyou.com. We will reply within 15 days of receiving the objection.
Article 18 (Copyright)
The rights to the game and to the art, music, text and other works in it belong to us or to their rightful owners. You may use them only to enjoy the game personally.
Article 19 (Liability)
- If we cause you loss intentionally or negligently, we compensate you as the law requires.
- Unless we acted intentionally or negligently, we are not liable where the service cannot be provided for reasons beyond our control, such as natural disasters, war, or carrier or app store failures, or for losses caused by your own fault, such as leaking a code or deleting the app without a backup.
- For services provided free of charge, we are not liable unless we acted intentionally or with gross negligence.
Article 20 (Disputes)
- We accept your comments and complaints at support@aboutusforyou.com and handle them without delay; if that is not possible, we will tell you why and when.
- Disputes between you and us may be referred for mediation to the Content Dispute Resolution Committee (www.kcdrc.kr) or a similar body.
- These terms and any dispute about the game are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and lawsuits are brought before the court with jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
